I did a lovely shoot with Bethany (7) and Georgia (5) the other day. I first photographed Bethany when she was around 6 months old, so it was great to see her again. We did quite a few setups – but the last setup we did is one of my favourites. Dark and dramatic – just the way I like it!

If you are looking for a fine art portrait photographer, give me a call on 01279 843050 and we’ll have a chat.

Happy new year to everyone!

Firstly, apologies for the lack of postings recently, the last few months have been extremely busy – indeed, its been the busiest period the business has had in its 13 year history! Thank you to everyone who has visited the studio, I hope you all enjoyed your shoots.

With regards to availability, we still have some spaces for weekday shoots during January and February, but we still have a very high demand for Saturday shoots. Our next available Saturday slots are in March. Slots during the half term week are almost full too, so if you are looking to have a portrait shoot contact us now.

Shown below are a selection of some of the images we created over the last couple of months.

Last week I attended the Master Photography Awards, hosted by the Master Photographers Association (MPA). Its one of the UK’s biggest award ceremonies for professional portrait and wedding photographers.

At the ceremony I was thrilled to receive a major award – namely the Best Fellowship Award for my panel; ‘Black on White’ which was my Fellowship submission to the MPA. The Fellowship is the highest accolade for quality and excellence a photographic trade body can bestow upon its members. In addition to that, I received an Award of Excellence for two images submitted in the Under 5’s and Creative Portraiture categories.

So all in all, I had a fantastic night!

I also learnt that F2 Cameracraft magazine have done a feature on the ‘Black on White’ collection. I also got the front cover too! F2 Cameracraft is available from all good newsagents.

You can see the full collection (and buy prints) at www.blackonwhite.photo. The site contains tasteful fine art nude imagery.

I’ve just had some great news that 5 of my portraits have reached the finals of the Master Photography Awards. The MPA Awards are one of the biggest award ceremonies in our industry.

Here are two images that got through. First up is a vintage style portrait of Marley. This portrait has been shortlisted in the Under 5’s category. If it wins, it will be the third time a photo of her has won an award through my studio! Fingers crossed that she will do it again! Next is a portrait of the stunning Naima. This was taken whilst I was photographing her for my ‘Black on White‘ project, for which I was awarded the Fellowship by the Master Photographers Association and the British Institute of Professional Photography.
