It seems the group is causing quite a stir – especially with the tabloids. From what I understand they make quite an impression on the BGT panel. Fingers crossed they get through!

Had a great shoot today. I had the pleasure of meeting top children’s entertainer Steve Rowley, who came in for some new publicity photographs. The Toucan (I think his name was Kiwi) in the photograph was absolutely amazing.  The Toucan is basically a highly sophisticated robot that moves and talks to you. Steve is one of the very few people in the country who’s got one of these. If you’ve got children, they will LOVE him! He also had some other fabulous things – such as a whiteboard that children can draw a face on and the face will then come alive and talk to you. Much more entertaining than Punch & Judy!

Just a quick update on my availability before our studio temporarily closes for building works in early May. At the time of writing this, we now have very limited space available for Saturday shoots. If you are looking to have a portrait sitting done in the very near future, contact us now to book your sitting date/time. Spaces are allocated on a first come, first served basis and your sitting is secured upon payment of your sitting fee. A couple of photographs from recent shoots. First up we have a publicity portrait of actress Corrina who needed some new headshots for casting agents, and finally a composite of Lara (5) and her little sister Jody(2). This was their second visit to my studio, I first photographed them a couple of years ago. Lara was very excited about her upcoming move to Australia. She was really looking forward to seeing some Kangaroos!

Firstly I would like to kick off by saying a big thank you to clients and colleagues for their lovely messages in relation to my recent success at the Master Photography Awards.

Here are a few shots from recent sittings. First up is a Mark, Jo and family who came in for a portrait sitting. Cassie their dog was beautifully behaved – I was hoping they would forget to take her home with them! Next is a publicity portrait of Mark who is a singer/guitarist. We had a great shoot. Finally we have a lovely moody headshot of Actress Rebecca, who also came in for some publicity portraits.

Here’s a publicity headshot I did for 16 year old actress Olivia. She’s just signed to a new agent and she popped into my studio this morning with her mum to update her photographs. I think she looks fabulous in this shot.

Couple of things to tell you…

Firstly, I’ve had a few clients ask me when will the results to the Kodak Portrait Awards promo be announced. According to the competition sponsors, finalists will be notified by mid September and the outright winner will be announced at our annual industry awards bash on 17th October. If any of my entrants have been successful, I will contact them straight away. A big thank you to everyone who entered – fingers crossed that one of my photos gets through!

Finally, apart from a couple of jobs, I’m taking a break for the next week or so. I was supposed to have taken the last 10 days off, but because of the high demand for my services, I postponed my break. I will be back in the office on 6th September. However, I will be regularly checking for phone messages and emails – and where necessary I will get in touch with you.

Well, we’ve had beautiful weather in the last two days… and I’ve been stuck inside for most of it! But its been worth it. I’ve had some lovely children to photograph.

First up is Emily. Her parents are past clients of mine and this time, Emily needed some publicity portraits of herself to submit to a theatrical agent. Secondly, we have Alice (2) who came in as part of our great Kodak portrait promotion, where you could win £1,000.00. I love her beautiful sparkly eyes.  Next is baby Jessica who came in for her first portrait sitting. It took a little time for the smiles to come, but once she realised mummy had her favorite cuddly rabbit with her, she settled down and was very happy to have her photograph taken! Finally, Jessica’s big brother Daniel (2). I first photographed little Daniel when he was a baby and he’s growing into a very handsome little boy.

The main bulk of my work is family portrait photography and baby portraits, but occasionally I’m asked to take some publicity portraits for actors and dancers.

Shown above is Daniel from Clacton who came to my studio today to get some headshots that he urgently needed for a casting.  With these sort of photographs, the images must clearly represent what the subject looks like in real life to help casting directors place the actor/dancer in the right part. I decided to portray Daniel in both light and dark moods – so, if he goes for a part that requires someone with a light, happy personality, he would submit the smiling shot, and if he was auditioning for a part that required a darker, moodier character, he would submit the bottom shot.
